You don’t necessarily have to splurge when buying a home theater system. I’m going to show you 3 ways you can build a home theater system using some techniques I learned over the years which can help you save some money and grab home theater discount.
Discontinued Items
You do not need the latest in home theater technology for your home theater system. Every year, manufacturers continually roll out new home theater models and the older models are discontinued.
Some dealers get rid of these discontinued models by selling them at dirt cheap prices. I have been able to get some home theater components such as speakers at almost 70% off the standard price.
Note that you do not want to compromise the overall quality of your home theater system, so don’t go buy the cheapest home theater discount component you can find. Pick and choose, as well as wait for that ideal component to be available at a discount.
Refurbished Items
Not all home theater sets sold by manufacturers are working right out of the box. Sometimes, there may be a manufacturer defect such as a broken knob or switch etc. In which case, the entire set is sent back to the manufacturer which is being repaired and then sold as a refurbished item.
Refurbished home theater systems are usually sold at a far lower price than the retail standard. You can get a refurbished home theater system sometimes at 50% off the retail price.

Since these home theater sets aren’t new, they are sold at a really low price and still carry the same guarantees and warranties. Be sure to check first though, some stores may not honor the warranty.
If you are thinking for getting a display model, make sure to check it thoroughly. You don’t want to get a home theater set that too worn down or over used. There may be a shorter shelf life as well therefore it’s important the warranty must still be valid.
